Bonding with James Bond

My son David, is insisting we keep up our Father & Son “tradition” by going to watch each new Bond film together, despite the fact he is now a lanky teenager who has found women and booze, who much prefers his “friends” company to that of his relatives! With the new James Bond film Quantum of Solace out today, I have no doubt he will be expecting me to take him this week, having seen Daniel Craig’s first  Bond film and loved it.

I particularly liked the beginning of Casino Royale when Daniel Craig is chasing the free running building hopper chap through a building site through all the window and door frames. As an addict of the Bourne Trilogy, it seems to me that the modern James Bond is almost now a posh Jason Bourne! Anyhow I am looking forward to the Quantum of Solace, and can only hope my son will still want to watch the next James Bond movie in the years to come!

Although I work at Hazlemere Windows Head Offices in High Wycombe, I live in Beaconsfield, which is not far from Pinewood Studios where many a James Bond film has been made, notibly the internal super tanker scenes from the Spy Who Loved Me, which I seem to remember burning down shortly after filming had finished? It is odd that one can bond with ones son with James Bond, but I am delighted it is his desire to keep the tradition going, so well done Ian Fleming! Little did you realise what you were starting!!

Blog it, don’t flog it, says the man from Bucks!

Mike Phillips, Wycombe Wanderers Football Club Promotions Manager mantra is “You’ve got to be in it to win it”, so we knew that given the explosion of social media, adding a Blog to our website is the right thing to do, given Hazlemere Windows rather privileged, established and trusted local brand position. The aim of “our” blog, therefore, is to be informative and helpful, and not just full of “us” and “sell”. We will be blogging about a wide range of issues, and not just replacement double glazing! So enjoy!

No energy price reduction on the cards it seems?

Despite falling oil prices, plus the resultant reductions in vehicle fuel prices, it is looking increasingly unlikely that gas and electricity prices will be coming down for consumers or businesses, which is a real blow, given the reduction availability of credit. The advice seems to be plan long-term and look to try and save money by reducing energy consumption by insulating your home. This view is set out in the following article on the domestic energy directory’s website entitled “Energy prices not set to drop”.

As well as insulating, householders can further reduce all their future energy bills by fitting energy saving windows.
