Going out away to Eastwood Town 2-0 in the 2nd round of the FA Cup is bitterly disappointing as a Wycombe Wanderers fan, yet it may be a blessing? We are already thankfully out of the JP Trophy, Carling Cup and now FA Cup, so only have Coca Cola League Two to concentrate on, so hopefully the lads, and the former England Under 21′s Manager Peter Taylor (Wycombe Wanderers Football Club’s current Manager), will now be fully focused on gaining promotion. Yes, i would rather have been in the FA Cup 3rd Round draw, but you have to look on the bright side, and hope we don’t come down with the Christmas decorations!
With both MFI and Woolworth’s in administration, British retailing looks bleak, especially with others like Currys, PC World and Dixons saying profits are down. MFI seemed to lose their way several years ago when they tried to move up market away from their original marketplace, and instead of being able to buy goods and take them home you now have to order them and wait – No wonder IKEA have done so well as they have filled the void MFI for some unknown reason appeared to have vacated.
Unlike MFI, Woolworth’s is a High Street brand that would be very sad if it closed. Woolworths have 3 retail outlets local to Hazlemere Windows in Amersham, Beaconsfield and High Wycombe. Woolworths have been in the High Street in High Wycombe…
Since London Wasps moved from Loftus Road to Adams Park they have won the Premiership, Heineken Cup and dominated Club Rugby Union – until this season. With 7 Guinness Premiership matches played, London Wasps have only mustered one win and are second bottom. Fair enough, a lot of their players have been on International Duty, but so have other Clubs.
Adams Park is no longer the fortress it was for London Wasps. Instead, their landlords, Wycombe Wanderers from Coca-Cola League Two, who Hazlemere Windows have been sponsoring for years, are showing up their tenants by not only being top of the League after 17 matches, but also unbeaten in the League, in fact going into December 2008 the Blues are the only unbeaten professional football team in the UK.
Hazlemere Commercial, a major Division of the Hazlemere Group recently secured a major £2.2m order for aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling at Bideford College in Devon. The contract will be delivered by Hazlemere Commercial in 2009 as part of a £44m redevelopment of the existing college campus by developers Morgan Ashurst, as part of the Governments Building Schools for the Future programme.
This is just one of dozens of sizeable contracts won in recent years by Hazlemere Commercial, who have a growing reputation amongst developers, local authorities, housing associations, architects and commercial property owners. It was not just the winning 2-1 last night, but the performance that brought this so called “friendly” match alive. It was great to see England outclassing Germany on their own soil. John Terry proved his credentials as a leader by taking full responsibility for Germany’s equalizer, when it was clear he had little help from Scott Carson. For Terry to get such an excellent winner and be the first footballing side to beat Germany in Berlin since 1973, demonstrates how far he and England have come under England Manager Fabio Cappello. Well done lads, a great watch!
On Radio 5 Live yesterday a guest speculated that the UK Government would announce incentives for Improving Homes next week. This will be apparently aimed at improving the existing housing stock, saving energy and reducing energy costs for consumers. These energy saving initiatives are said to include assistance with inefficient boilers, new energy rated double glazed replacement windows and insulation.
Gas prices could come down? The Energy and Climate Change Secretary Ed Miliband has met with the largest six UK energy companies twice in the last month to encourage them to bring down retail gas and electricity prices. According to the Domestic Energy Assessors website “Even if costs of gas and electricity do go down, consumers can still make further savings by installing insulation, double glazing and other measures.”
Dragon Den Millionaire Peter Jones visited his parents in Maidenhead on BBC2′s Dragons Den feature on him last night. He revealed during the programme that the secondary school he attended was Desborough School in Maidenhead, the very same school Hazlemere Commercial fitted Monaframe Vertical Sliding Sash Aluminium Windows to not so long ago.
