On Radio 5 Live yesterday a guest speculated that the UK Government would announce incentives for Improving Homes next week. This will be apparently aimed at improving the existing housing stock, saving energy and reducing energy costs for consumers. These energy saving initiatives are said to include assistance with inefficient boilers, new energy rated double glazed replacement windows and insulation.
Gas prices could come down? The Energy and Climate Change Secretary Ed Miliband has met with the largest six UK energy companies twice in the last month to encourage them to bring down retail gas and electricity prices. According to the Domestic Energy Assessors website “Even if costs of gas and electricity do go down, consumers can still make further savings by installing insulation, double glazing and other measures.”
