Hazlemere Windows bucks the pressure selling trend

Having been in the double glazing industry for more than a year, it amazes me how many visitors to our High Wycombe showroom recount being put under undue pressure by other double glazing companies, which sadly quite often turn out to be well known brand names.

This seemingly aggressive approach that clients often report they have experienced, actually appears to drive custom to Hazlemere Windows, as I am delighted to say, we have built up a proud reputation in the region for letting customers make up their own mind in their own time.

In a funny sort of way double glazing companies who use “hard selling” tactics in Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, Middlesex and Oxfordshire, are doing Hazlemere Windows, Doors & Conservatories a real favour, as their behaviour simply highlights the benefits of dealing with the Hazlemere Group, a family owned, independent manufacturer since 1985, that has a large 4,000 square foot home improvements showroom in High Wycombe offering free expert help & advice on a no obligation basis.

Furthermore, Hazlemere Windows offer on the spot no obligation free estimates seven days a week at their Showroom in Wellington Road on Cressex Business Park to anyone who brings their own sizes, along with hand drawn sketches of each window and door showing any opening vents and which way they would like them to open.

I am proud of the fact that Hazlemere Windows employ experienced industry experts who are on hand to offer no hassle free help and advice about all the different types of double glazing products available in the marketplace, whether or not you then end up buying from the Hazlemere Group.

Hazlemere Windows consultants take turns to man the Showroom, which is open Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm, Saturday 10am – 4pm and Sunday 10am – 1pm. They are more than happy to let you browse at your leisure or, should you require it, run through the pros and cons of today’s modern energy efficient materials, such as aluminium, composite and UPVC along with the many different types, styles and finishes of double glazed windows, doors, conservatories, garage doors and blinds on display within the showroom.

If, having been to the showroom, you see a home improvement product or products that you would like to investigate further, you can book up for one of Hazlemere’s experts to pop along to have a look at your property any carry out a free site survey and consultation. If you then would like a no obligation written quotation, they would be delighted to oblige, plus are more than happy to leave it with you to consider on your own in your own times.

It is clear to me that Hazlemere Windows non threatening, no hassle, softly softly approach definitely pays dividends, as clients tell us all the time what a pleasant contrast it is to the hard sell approach they had unfortunately experienced from representatives of other double glazing companies. I know personally I can not stand pressure selling, and will personally not buy on principle from any person or firm that puts me under undue pressure.

The simple way to find out if what I am saying is true or a marketing gimmick is to come along when it suits you to Hazlemere Windows home improvement showroom, enjoy one of our complimentary speciality coffee’s, whilst having a leisurely look round at the wide selection of home improvement ideas and options on display. For a no obligation “on the spot” free estimate to help you budget and plan simply “Bring Your Own Sizes” and get a genuine indication of how much your UPVC or Aluminium replacement windows and doors are going to cost. Budget will not help meet carbon emission reductions

According to the energyhelpline website, the Existing Homes Alliance had called on the Chancellor of the Exchequer for £2 billion to be put aside in the Budget to help deliver energy efficiency measures in over 26 million existing homes. However, Alistair Darling, committed just £100 million in his Budget report, according to 24dash.com.

Rather than allocating the £2 billion, which the alliance said would help create 150,000 jobs, whilst improving the energy efficiency of half a million homes, the Chancellor and the government has instead, it seems, chosen in the Budget to focus on the social housing sector.

Nicholas Doyle, founding member of Existing Homes Alliance and head of sustainability at Places for People, said: “This is massively disappointing news and is a massive blow in meeting carbon reduction targets and improving energy efficiency in the country’s 26.2 million existing homes.”

He added that more dramatic action is needed to reduce the carbon output of Britain’s existing housing stock. Installing measures such as insulation, double-glazing and energy-efficient boilers can help to reduce both energy bills and carbon emissions. Check out Hazlemere Windows, energy efficient, energy saving windows, which can save a detached household with gas fired central heating up to £14,200 over a 20 year period if you upgrade from single glazing, along with 40.56 tonnes of CO2 emissions (Pilkington energiKare homeowner cost savings).

Are energy rated windows a common sense necessity?

One of the ways to do this is through fitting modern energy efficient double glazing. According to the Energy Saving Trust, poorly insulated window frames and single glazed windows account for up to a fifth of heat loss in the average home, as efficient double glazing acts as an important shield from the cold, noise and condensation.

Nowadays, having an energy efficient home is not a fad, it’s a very sensible way to save money on your energy bills and helps reduce your carbon footprint.

Today’s highly functional product is a prudent long term investment, adding value to your home when you sell. The Energy Saving Trust has also stated that one of the first things people look for when buying a property is double glazing.

Like thousands of households across the UK, you’re probably aware of the impact that the escalating energy prices have made to your utilities budget, so you may wish to consistently compare energy prices from different suppliers, as this could save you up to £300 a year. I appreciate this is a bit of a “pane”, but so is spending £300 a year you do not need to, which is probably nearer £500 before tax and National Insurance!

If you have a listed building, or a property with unusual characteristics, then you will probably require planning permission from your local council before you can proceed with any work. This awareness is of even more importance since Energy Performance Certificates were included in Home Information Packs (HIPS) after June 2007, which produce a transparent energy efficiency rating of you property.

If energy suppliers can deliver more competitive prices, whilst consumers are educated about ways in which to be more energy efficient from authoritative voices such as the Energy Saving Trust, it may be worth considering investing in the future by ensuring you benefit from the latest technologically advanced energy saving double glazed windows.

Happy customer Martyn from Holmer Green Bucks very pleased about his “new” Hazlemere Windows front door

One of the guys from my Church (Kings Church Amersham) called Martyn Woodley asked me in the Spring of 2008 about a replacement front door and side panel for his home in Holmer Green, near High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, as he knew I worked for Hazlemere Windows. Naturally I suggested he obtained a quotation, which Martyn must have been happy with, as he later ordered a new aluminium front door and glazed side panel, which were fitted in Summer 2008 to Martyn’s satisfaction.

Anyhow I thought nothing more of it till I got a call one very chilly Winter’s afternoon in the early part of 2009 from Martyn saying he was standing outside his house with his aging Mother-in-Law in the freezing cold unable to get in through his front door. Martyn rang me. as obviously a) he knows me well and b) I had recommended Hazlemere Windows to him!

I immediately got hold of Michael Tuppenney Hazlemere Windows Service Manager and explained the situation. He in turn contacted one Hazlemere’s dedicated expert service engineers Andy Gowing, who was out in his van, fortunately for all concerned still in the High Wycombe area. My first thought was that Martyn or his wife Amanda had left a yale key on the inside of the door, as this prevents anyone then being able to use a key (even if the right one) on the outside lock. Martyn was confident there was no key in the door as he had one and his wife had the other who was out.

Within less than half an hour of Martyn phoning me, Andy had not only arrived at Martyn’s home in Holmer Green, near High Wycombe, Bucks, but also been able to gain access without damaging the door in any way, enabling Martyn’s Mother-in-Law to warm up with a much needed cup of tea! It turns out that the spindle had broken in the lock, which Hazlemere Windows experienced service engineer Andy, replaced at no cost to Martyn whatsoever, as Hazlemere do not charge their windows, doors or conservatory customers any call out or replacement part costs whether the product or installation is defective for the first ten years. This comprehensive 10 year guarantee is something Hazlemere is very proud of its record on, as have their own dedicated highly skilled service engineers that assist not only Hazlemere Windows customers, but anyone who has need of double glazing repair or replacement, such as ”blown” sealed units, broken window and door locks, spindles and handles etc.

Martyn was so pleased with the service he received from Hazlemere’s Service Department he sent the following email to me and everyone at Hazlemere Windows:

“I would like to thank you and your staff at Hazelmere Windows.

I arrived home with my Mother-in-Law to find we could not get in our front door that Hazlemere Windows had fitted 6 months earlier. I called their service department, and within half-an-hour one of Hazlemere’s dedicated service engineers, had arrived and let us into our house and rectified the problem. We were extremely grateful as it was a cold wintery day, which meant we appreciated the emergency call out, and being able to get into the warm so quickly. The work was all done under guarantee, so we had nothing to pay.

I have found in the past that sometimes companies are keen to sell you something, but when it comes to after service they fail to deliver. This is not the case with Hazlemere Windows, Thank You! I would have no hesitation in recommending Hazlemere Windows to anyone considering replacement windows and doors.” Martyn Woodley, Holmer Green, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
