Fixed Secondary Glazing

Although the fixed frame secondary glazed windows supplied and fitted by Hazlemere Windows function in the same way as the economy odd leg frame, fixed frame secondary glazing is not the same as the economy odd leg frame. Like the economy frame it has no subframe and fixes flush with each existing window, but unlike the economy frame the ‘fixed’ secondary glazed frame does not have an odd leg and is a system in its own right. This product is therefore manufactured specifically for the purpose of being used for fixed secondary glazing.

Fixed Secondary Glazed Windows

The fixed secondary glazing we supply and install can be from 300mm to 1200mm wide and between 300mm to 1600mm high. If safety glass is used, be it 6mm toughened glass or 6mm laminated glass, fixed secondary glazed units can be supplied up to 1500mm wide and 2600mm high. Fixed secondary glazing comes in three standard colours of white, brown and silver. Optionally the aluminium frames can be painted any RAL colour. The fixed unit does not come with trims. The panels are a single glazed unit that is not removable. These fixed secondary glazing window units come with pre-drilled countersunk holes, which makes them relatively easy and quick to install.

The fixed secondary system is the slimmest out of all the secondary glazed window units Hazlemere installs as it does not have any subframe. The wool pile on the back of the frame helps create an good seal onto the existing window, which will help prevent draughts, plus assists in blocking out sound.

The fixed aluminium secondary glazing window units can also be used for a number of other reasons, such as frames for advertising posters, frames for certificates and a very common use is for notice boards in receptions and waiting rooms.
