Hazlemere Windows sponsorship of Wycombe Wanderers FC over the last two decades
Hazlemere Windows had long been sponsoring the Chairboys before I joined the Club as Commercial Manager in 1992. Little did I know I was going to end up working there till 2004! My first contact with Hazlemere Windows, came when Wycombe Wanderers were still in the GM Vauxhall Conference as it was then (non-League). Hazlemere Windows even provided the trailer for the Club’s Matchday Programme Shop, which is still in the car park at Adams Park till this day!
When I moved in Beaconsfield in 1994, I obviously got a quote from Hazlemere Windows, given they were major sponsors at Wycombe Wanderers, and had such a good name locally. They replaced all the windows and doors in our new home with aluminium Monarch windows and doors. Subsequently they also replaced all the cladding, fascias, soffits, gutters and downpipes, so I now have a virtually maintenance free home.
Hazlemere became major sponsors at Wycombe Wanderers, and still support events at the Club such as the Sportsman’s Dinners and Boxing Nights, given their head office and showroom is just up the hill in Cressex. The Blues progress into the Football League and immediate promotion to Division Two (as it was then) under Martin O’Neill obviously assisted me in getting sponsorship for the Club.ÂÂ
Hazlemere Windows also currently sponsor Beaconsfield SYCOB Football Club and Burnham Football Club, both towns where they once had high street showrooms. However, several years ago Hazlemere sold all its outlying showrooms and built a 4,000 square feet showroom in Wellington Road, Cressex, large enough to display several full size conservatories in both aluminium and UPVC.
Like Wycombe Wanderers (at present anyway), Hazlemere Windows are top of their league and both institutions are well entrenched within the local community. So if I had not worked at Wycombe Wanderers I may have never met the Directors of Hazlemere Windows, who have become close friends over the years, even after left Adams Park to go to Queens Park Rangers FC as Commercial Director in 2005. It was their friendly approach last year that encouraged me to join their team and well established family business earlier this year. I still make it to the majority of Wycombe Wanderers home matches, hoping this might be the season that sees promotion “back” to Coca Cola League One!
