The Edwardian conservatory is a square or rectangular room renowned for maximising floor space thanks to its sloping roof. In this example, floor space was somewhat limited so we had to create a sleeker and modern interpretation of the original Edwardian conservatory that bears some resemblance to the original design. Incorporating a neat set of steps for access in and out of the garden, a good amount of furniture has been inserted into the space, testament to just how roomy we’ve managed to make it.
You can envisage just how enjoyable it would be having your breakfast, lunch or dinner on the little cane table when one half of the patio doors is slid open. At the opposite side of the patio doors is an elegant set of French doors that will open and close with similar grace. True to Edwardian conservatory tradition, a renaissance-like cresting and classic finial sits along the distance of the roof’s exterior and really catches the eye when you stand at the perimeter of the garden. Much of the structure is composed of brickwork which has helped blend the design into the house brilliantly and made it look as though it has always been a permanent fixture.
