Hazlemere Window Company Go Extra Mile So Their Customers Have Extra Peace of Mind

Hazlemere Window Company Ltd are not obliged to provide an insurance backed warranty to conservatory or orangery customers, however they do.

Why? Because long ago Hazlemere decided it would include a 10 year insurance backed warranty from Home Improvement Protection (HIP) in every one of its new conservatory and orangery packages.

Competent Persons Schemes like FENSA do not issue certificates for conservatories or orangeries as the vast majority of these double glazed extensions do not require Building Regulatory Approval, so are treated as exempt as they are deemed to be temporary structures. However, if UK homeowners have replacement windows or doors, FENSA require all FENSA registered installers to provide each replacement window and/or door customer with an independent deposit and warranty insurance. In the extremely unlikely event of anything untoward happening to the installer within the first 10 years, you will be able to submit an insurance claim for any warranty work that needs doing up to the expiry of your guarantee.

Hazlemere Window Company include the cost of the Insurance Backed Guarantee is included within the overall cost of their window and door contracts. In most cases it will provide up to £25,000 of cover. In addition, deposits placed with GGF Members like Hazlemere Windows are protected by the GGF’s independent Deposit Indemnity Scheme, which safeguards deposits up to £12,500 or 50% of the contract price, whichever is lower. Hazlemere Window Company Ltd have also signed up to the GGF Consumer Code of Practice.

How does it work in the case of Conservatories and Orangeries? After the contract is completed and account settled, Hazlemere registers each conservatory and orangery installation with HIP. They then send each conservatory customer a form to fill in and send back to Home Improvement Protection to register for their insurance backed warranty (IBG). It is essential this in a timely fashion (within 30 days) to activate the insurance cover as this is included in the package. HIP do of course have their own terms and conditions like any other insurance company.

Why does Hazlemere do this?, Because we want every single one of our conservatory customers to have that extra peace of mind. After installation of any replacement windows or doors you have ordered in addition to a conservatory from Hazlemere Window Company you will receive an insurance backed warranty from GGFi (Glass and Glazing Federation Insurance) within about 3-6 weeks of you having paid in full. An ‘Insurance Backed Guarantee’ is an Insurance product which protects customers, should a business cease to trade. (Terms & Conditions apply.) With a GGFi Insurance Backed Guarantee in place, GGFi and HIP will consider claims under the terms of the original guarantee for the remaining guarantee period. For example, if the business provides the customer with a 10 year guarantee but ceases to trade after 5 years, GGFi or HIP can consider a claim for the remaining 5 years should a fault occur.

Hazlemere have been trading since 1985 and owns all 4 of its premises in High Wycombe and has a rock solid trading history, and is a major employer in the town. Hazlemere also gives every windows, doors, Roofline and conservatory customer a comprehensive 10 year guarantee of their own, and have 3 of their own PAYE dedicated full time experienced service engineers to deliver this. Despite this Hazlemere genuinely wants each and every one of its customers to have peace of mind in the extremely unlikely event that many years down the line things change, as Hazlemere really cares about its customers.
