It’s a big decision deciding on your new front door- you’ll be seeing your new door for a long time and every time you come home. Before rushing to settle with any new door, make sure you take the time to really think about what you want for your home.

The first thing to decide when looking for a new front door is what style of front door will suit your home. We offer four main types of front door; composite doors, UPVC doors, solid core doors, and aluminium doors. Each one will look fantastic on any home. Which one is right for you will depend on your unique needs and our advisors will be happy to help you.

Once you’ve decided on the door style, the next step is to choose the perfect colour. Our UPVC and composite doors are available in a variety of colours including bright and natural woodgrains, whereas our aluminium doors can be painted in almost any RAL colour.

There’s a lot of information on whether a particular front door will help your house value go up or even bring you good luck, but it really comes down to personal preference and your style.

You’re going to be looking at this door everytime you come home, so we recommend going with a colour that you love most and staying clear of trends, unless you’re absolutely sure you can look at a colour for a long time.

If you’re wanting to create a dark front door for an elegant entrance, our UPVC doors are available in a range of deeper colours. Our range includes colours such as steel blue, matt black, dark red, and more.

For those homeowners that want a brighter entrance, our colour range includes traditional white, olive grey, and chartwell green. These lighter colours will help create an airy and welcoming feel for your home.

For something more unique, one of our aluminium doors could be the perfect choice. We’re able to paint our aluminium range in almost any RAL colour, so if you have a particular colour in mind, our team will be happy to bring your vision to reality.

You don’t need to have measurements for your appointment, but it can be useful to have rough dimensions in mind.

Before any installation works go ahead, we will send a team member to your home to take exact measurements. So for your initial appointment, you don’t need to have recorded things to the millimetre.

That being said, if you’d like to bring measurements to your appointment that would be very helpful as it will help our design team roughly know how much space we have to work with. This will be particularly helpful if you’re looking to add side panels, for example.

If you’d like to bring measurements to your appointment, there are a few things to do to make sure the dimensions you bring are useful for our team. Firstly, it’s important to measure the existing door as long as it’s still fitting well in the frame. If your door has warped beyond its initial measurements, then they won’t help us determine the space we have to work with. If your door is still within its frame, take measurements of the door alone and the door with the frame to give us a more accurate picture.

Another thing that would be helpful for your appointment is photos of your existing door, including any side panels or elements we need to take into account for the new installation. Bringing along any inspiration photos you have or pictures of doors you like would also be very helpful for the design team to help bring your design to life.

Our UPVC front doors are designed to be resilient and durable. They’re built to last so they keep your home and family safe without the need for lots of costly maintenance. Each one of our doors is built to our high standards to give you a virtually maintenance-free door.

That being said, like anything exposed to the elements, your front door will collect a bit of dirt and debris over time.

To help keep your door looking its best all you need is a damp cloth to wipe it down and remove any dirt or debris. Be sure when doing this that you use a soft cloth – never use anything abrasive on the door as it could damage the finish or hardware used.

For cleaning door fixtures and finishes, be sure to use mildly concentrated warm soapy water and a soft cloth to wipe surfaces down, and then buff dry with a lint free cloth after cleaning. This will effectively clean them and minimise any risk of scratching.
