This pair of terrace cottages in a quaint Berkshire village both share matching window styles and external colours, courtesy of Hazlemere, but originally, it was just the house on the right that commissioned a new window installation from us.
Its occupiers really did their homework before reaching out for assistance. Mindful of the property being in a conservation area, they liaised with their council ahead of speaking to our team to check what window replacements would receive approval (we managed to get a photo of the original windows for context).
Once clarification was given, they contacted Hazlemere after knowing of us locally. Initially, they requested a quote for white sliding sash windows with astragal bars, however, they had a change of heart upon discovering our UPVC flush casement windows.
Smitten with the flush style, attention then turned to colour. Out of the varied palette, they opted for two colours – Olive Grey externally and White internally. The dual-coloured windows feature a single astragal bar, magnifying their undeniable beauty, excellently complemented with a stylish new entryway from our door range.
The neighbours in the left-hand side house then approached us on the recommendation of next door and asked for a quote. Around six months later, we returned to the village and integrated the same window style at the connecting cottage with matching window sizes, but with an internal colour of Olive Grey, rather than White, to match the external frames.
In a remarkable chain of events, a person walking by whilst we were installing the windows loved them so much that they asked for a quote too – that’s the Hazlemere effect!
