Many of the above ideas are related to the home and things that you could be putting into practice yourself to help save a handy amount of cash. There is however a host of other money-saving measures involving your home that you could also be implementing, some of which we have outlined below:

• Buy a brand new set of window and doors to help improve energy efficiency, eliminate heat loss and cut fuel costs.
• Dress appropriately inside your home for the time of year. Wear several layers during the winter time as opposed to shorts and t-shirt and relying on your heating system to keep you warm.
• Turn off all the lights when going up to bed or leaving your house empty. Don’t be tempted to leave a landing light on.
• Stop leaving appliances such as the TV, radio, Hi-Fi, on standby. Switch them off at the wall or pull out the plug.
• When darkness falls, draw the curtains to help retain any heat generated.
• When utilising your oven, leave the oven door open after cooking to allow some of the warm air to circulate around your kitchen.
• Fill your washing machine up each time you put on a load.
