Mighty 5-3 win for the office over the factory team

Last night saw the big match (no not Manchester United in the Champions League), but the cream from amongst Hazlemere Window Company fabricators, taking on the office administrators from Hazlemere Windows Head Office at the Cressex Astroturf football pitch in High Wycombe, Bucks. The match was the idea of lifelong Arsenal fan Tony Beale, the Sales Director.

The factory boys flew into a 2-0 lead in-front a of a surprisingly large crowd of fellow work colleagues, friends and family who came along for a goof laugh, and were not to be disappointed. Eventually as the match wore on, the more experienced heads on the office side, started to pass the ball around and gradually fitness became a deciding factor.

The only booking of the match was when the IT Manager, Ade, “deliberately” handled the ball into the net for the office boys. However, the impartial referee (well it was me actually) disallowed the goal and produced a yellow card.

Whilst all the participants who have made it into work this morning are rather sore and aching, a good time was enjoyed by all, and the factory obviously are looking for a re-match to put the office wallah’s in their place after the 5-3 defeat. The only injuries were a couple of twisted ankles and a few bruises, with no suspensions.
