The tension is mounting and anticipation is high amongst football lovers across the globe as they await the start of the 20th FIFA World Cup, due to get underway in two days’ time in sunny Brazil.

England fans are perhaps a little less optimistic than in the build-up to previous major tournaments but that won’t stop us from proudly displaying the famous Three Lions on our chest and roaring out the national anthem as the team takes to the pitch in their first game against the Italians.

Though it seemingly always ends in bitter disappointment, any England game in the World Cup or European Championships is a huge event and a fantastic excuse to get together with close friends and family to show your support. A conservatory or orangery is the perfect setting for settling down to what will be a feast of football over the coming month; install a suitably spacious sofa, set-up the widescreen TV, purchase a few nibbles and snacks, hang up the St Georges’ flag bunting, and voila, you have every footy fans’ paradise.

There are bound to be some family members somewhat less interested in the exploits of Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar and Co.

To avoid any tussle for the remote control or unnecessary arguments, you can always revert to your own dedicated soccer sanctuary whilst they continue to enjoy whatever else takes their fancy on the other channels. It’s a win-win situation all round!
