Visit To Chinnor

This week we visited the lovely village of Chinnor, in South Oxfordshire. We couldn’t help but notice how with all the green areas and woodlands surrounding the brick and flint houses, a home improvement such as a house extension, bi-folding doors, a conservatory or an orangery can make such a difference in connect your home with nature.

We stumble across St Andrews Church, a stunning building, with beautiful outdoor space, full of tall trees that provide you a peaceful feeling, the indoors full of detailing, graceful and elegant from the rib-vault ceiling to the combination of wood and concrete. But what really caught our attention were the stained-glass windows, that bring so much light to the inside, while looking beautiful with the colours and figures they display.

One of the suggestions we give to our customers for them to get that same sophisticated style and lighting into their homes is to go for our range of aluminium windows, bi-folding doors, conservatories or orangeries. Because:

  • Aluminium is a lightweight but strong material, it’s the perfect combination between style and efficiency
  • Aluminium windows work as an energy saver as they are built with a “thermal break” that effectively separates the exterior and interior surfaces to stop heat and cold crossing from outside to inside.
  • The thin frames give a more sophisticated look, leaving the opportunity to place bigger double-glazed units, bringing more light into room

Another popular material for home improvements and extension is UPVC, it has become the go-to choice for many homes in the UK.

UPVC is:

  • Cost-effective
  • Is a material that requires little maintenance
  • Long lasting
  • It’s a high energy rated product
  • It can be adjusted to the design style you are looking for

Like the example pictured of a customer we recently visited, during our trip to Chinnor, the shape, size and finish were completely adjusted to the be-spoke design to the requirements and look they were after. Glass walls to see the beautiful and colourful garden while sitting and chatting with friends and family. Roof vents and a wide door to let the fresh summer breeze in and underfloor heating to make it cosy during winter this extension has become the afternoon’s place-to-be.
