Autumn/Winter Interior Decoration Ideas

As pained as we are to say it, summer will soon be coming to an end. It’s been a very un-English summer, one of the hottest on record, but autumn is just around the corner with winter not too far behind it and it’s just about now that you should be changing up your home’s interior in time for their impending arrival.

Flush Casement Windows

Any changes you make to the inside of your house should reflect these seasons and veer away from e.g. the vibrant colours most associated with summer.

If you’re unsure where to start or what’s going to be fashionable in home interiors for autumn/winter 2018, we have our finger firmly on the pulse and can tell you.

Navy will be all the rage

Pantone may have chosen Ultra Violet as their Colour of the Year for 2018, but Navy is set to eclipse it in the popularity stakes over the coming months. This very dark blue shade suits the darker ambience of autumn / winter and helps to establish a tranquil feel in rooms, particularly perfect for main living areas. You will find it very easy to get your hands on various soft furnishings in a navy colour whether you’d like some navy coloured cushions or a set of navy throws.

Think sustainably

Word has it, or at least according to IKEA, that there will be increased demand for sustainable homewares, furniture and fabrics as people become more conscious of the environment. More and more items for home interiors are being developed using recycled, eco-friendly materials that don’t compromise on style and will have a positive impact on your home, rather than a negative impact on the earth.

Have it homemade

Backs are slowly being turned on mass-produced items as there are so many of them about and they lack the personal touch that you get from a handmade equivalent. There’s something much more thrilling about taking receipt of an item that you know has been painstakingly crafted and produced by man / woman instead of a machine. Appropriate handmade products like tables, seating, sideboards etc. will also often endure longer than off-the-shelf items.

Further tips for interiors for the climax of this year and beyond are likely to come up in conversation with one of our knowledgeable consultants if you have plans to install a conservatory. Book an appointment with Hazlemere to get the conservatory you desire off the ground.
