Thousands of old conservatories sit empty for large parts of the year because they either get too hot in summer or too cold in summer. They can instantly be brought back to life by exchanging the existing roof for a lightweight tiled roof which will offer effective temperature regulation, whatever the weather. This was exactly what happened once the tiled roof was integrated into this conservatory, and so that it looked the part, the finish applied to the tile was specifically chosen because of its likeness to the house roof tiles.
A great effort was made to ensure the whole design looks as uniform as possible which involved including traditional white coloured UPVC guttering and downpipes to match the energy efficient UPVC windows. We were also commissioned to fit a side entrance to give the occupants a perfect entrance onto the patio area and accompanying set of patio doors that supply a stylish connection from the conservatory into the inside of the house. Because some natural light will be lost as a consequence of integrating a solid roof, albeit minimal, downlighters sit in the roof that can be switched on when the sun starts to go down. They will help emphasise the cream/white internal finish.
